GEAR announces Ice Axe Expedition leader and founder Douglas Chandler Stoup as a new brand ambassador of GEAR; the new source of adventure and environmental awareness. Douglas was the first American male to ski to the South Pole as well as to successfully trek 660 miles across Antarctica. We are pleased he has joined GEAR's roster of Global Brand Ambassadors.
GEAR(Global Environmental Adventure Research) believes that through adventure, media, and travel, the global community can affect change in a positive way. GEAR's work is widespread, from local messaging in large and small communities to promoting sustainable lifestyle choices and educating influential people on the power of "green". On television our goal is to inspire the path to a healthier planet while adventure traveling through the world in their innovative expedition vehicle.

In support of GEAR, Stoup's stellar career includes over ten years of active expedition experience featured internationally in film and television as well as a first ski and snowboard descent of VInson Massif, a pioneering of Streaming Media from expeditions, and first to "Ice Bike" long distance in Antarctica. In addition to returning Last year to the pole, Doug participated in
Pole Track — an international North Pole expedition supporting climate change research on the Arctic Ocean. His role is to speak to students around the country and encourages them to interact in his adventures through the ICEAXE.TV website. He shares his experiences and desire to succeed with young people. He also guides and lectures business
leaders on motivational and team-building skills. Doug believes that,"it's through the struggles and failures in life that we find personal success and happiness."

To have someone of Douglas's stature represent the brand and join our team of global ambassadors is a fantastic endorsement for GEAR."We're delighted to be partnering with him as he steps back in his role of protector of the planet through adventures . GEAR enjoys tremendous representation in the US and having Douglas on board will only serve to strengthen the appeal of the brand there and ultimately beyond. He's noted for being a professional both on and off his expeditions and we're looking forward to growing our relationship with him.
GEAR is celebrating it's beginning and hopes to lead the the way for a greener future in the adventure world. The company is family owned by Dez Bartelt, the 46-year-old Chief Executive Officer along with adventure athlete Garret Bartelt; co-owner/founder. GEAR has emerged as an innovative, bold adventure brand and will soon be coming to your screen.
